World-Famous National Parks: We will drive you in small groups through two world-recognized National Parks and you will see the wildlife, up close and personal.  Experience the one and only Serengeti National Park, considered to be one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World during the second largest yearly migration period called “The Black Wildebeest Migration.” This is your opportunity to see Africa’s Big Five: Elephant, Cape buffalo, Leopard, Lion and the Black Rhino. In addition, you will be driving through the impressive Ngorongoro Crater, where approximately 25,000 large animals currently live.

Breathtaking Landscapes: Your journey includes driving through the natural beauty of open grasslands, savannahs, kopjes, and endless plains.  Everyday, you will experience Tanzania’s diverse scenery, including passing by the ice-capped summits of Mt. Kilimanjaro and continuing westward through the volcanic caldera.

Cultural and Educational Experiences: You will experience first-hand two unique tribes, who only live in East Africa. Visit a local Maasai boma and learn about their unique lifestyle and how this semi-nomadic tribe maintains their culture, yet still continue to survive within modern-day Tanzania.
Also, you will have the opportunity to visit the “Hadzabe Tribe”, also known as the Bushmen, and learn about their hunting-gatherer ways of survival.


Trip Cost:  $3,860 Per person, double room occupancy

A $500.00 deposit per person is required to secure your reservation. This deposit is non-refundable after five days. The total cost for this trip is $ 3,860.  Single supplement is an additional $750.00 per person.

Final payment is due no later than December 6, 2018 – 60 days prior to departure.  All reservations will be final after this date and subject to our cancellation policy.

Tanzania Heritage and Journey to Maramboi

“Habari” (How are you?)
Today we depart Arusha to travel to Maramboi.  On our way, we will drive through Arusha for a city tour. Guides will provide a brief history and share the political, social and economic issues of today. Activities may include a walk through a local market, visiting the Cultural Heritage Centre and the Shanga House, a special workshop/retail store that employs disabled Tanzanians.

We will arrive in the Maramboi area, located between Lake Manyara National Park and Tarangire National Park by the afternoon.

This morning after departing Maramboi, we will provide you with an “awe-inspiring” experience by visiting a local Maasai Boma.  The regional chief will provide you insight into the lifestyle of this unique ethnic tribe, who have been documented in East Africa since the mid 17th century. Afterwards, we continue on to our lodge in Karatu.

Depart for the Serengeti and visit the Olduvai Gorge

“Karibu Tena” (Welcome again!)
Our journey begins to the Serengeti.  We will visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum and see first-hand one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world!  Afterwards, as we drive through this diverse and beautiful landscape, we arrive at our Serengeti tented camp in the early evening and witness the gorgeous African sunset.

“Tunaenda Wapi” (Where are we going?)
Today we experience our first full day game drive across the Serengeti National Park. Depending on the migration patterns, we will either have a picnic lunch or return to the lodge for lunch.  After a short rest, we will return for a late afternoon safari to view more wildlife. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the “Big Five:” the lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, and cape buffalo. Upon our return to camp, we will enjoy a group discussion by the campfire.

Serengeti Game-Drive, Day 2

This will be our second full-day game drive in the Serengeti National Park.  The Serengeti encompasses an area of 5,695 square miles, so there will be many more opportunities to get great photos of the massive numbers of wildlife.

We will experience a full-day game drive through the amazing, beautiful Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site, which is 1/3 miles deep and composed of 116 square miles. This is a wonderful photographer’s opportunity to see thousands of animals roaming in their natural habitat.

Hadzabe Tribe

The indigenous Bushpeople (Hadzabe tribe), who number less than 1,000 today, are the first inhabitants of Tanzania. During our visit, we will learn how they maintain their age-old semi-nomadic lifestyle through hunting with hand-made bows and arrows. Their survival techniques will amaze you.

Before we depart today, we will have the option to tour FAME, a local non-profit medical facility, started by a California cardiologist and his wife in 2008. A tour will include visiting the hospital, outpatient clinic and other facilities, which provides accessible healthcare to rural, underserved Tanzanian locals. We will then drive back to Arusha where lunch and a day room will be provided. You will be transported from Arusha to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your outbound flight(s).

What This Safari Adventure includes:

  • All lodge accommodations during the 10-day Safari Tour

  • Licensed and expert Tanzanian safari guides, who have many years of experience in game driving and leading international visitors on Safari tours.

  • All meals during the 10-day safari trip and bottled drinking water everyday.

Activity Level Recommendations & Weather Conditions:

During the majority of the trip, you will be riding in a safari vehicle that may be driving over dirt roads in poor condition.  You must be able to walk independently 1 – 2 hours a day, as we will offer frequent restroom breaks, hike to vista points, and walk in areas where ground is uneven or up hill.  In many rural areas and in the national parks, there are few handrails for stairways. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate travelers using wheelchairs, walkers or other mobility aids at this time.  We reserve the right for the guides to restrict participation, so that we don’t limit or impact the entire group’s experience.

February is considered the “short dry season”. The average high temperature is usually around 84 degrees F, (29 C) during the daytime. Night time lows average around 79 degrees F, (26 C).
